The unique design of these pieces is based on the decorative siding that adorned the ancient ship, Oseberg. The ship was found in a burial mound in the town Slagen, Vestfold county, Norway. The name Oseberg comes from the last name of the owners of the farm where it was discovered in 1904 The Oseberg viking ship is housed in the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo, Norway. These sterling silver earrings are 1/2" wide by 3/4" long.
